My Portfolio Pieces

Hi everyone!

I just want to make a quick comment on my portfolio. I know I've been giving a lot of attention to my writing recently because I just finished working on a novel this past year (yay!). It's something that I have been working toward with a lot of thought and I see my portfolio as something to be recognized-- hopefully-- maybe and care to comment on its existence as part of my artistic scope.

When first writing about the Creative Journey, I envisioned it be something like a plethora of experiences that all come together as one. Something that I would enjoy along the way and share with my readers as they too might want to partake in sharing their Creative Journey with me-- and with everyone.

I started out doing photography in 2019 and started taking MFA courses at the Academy of Art University. I started to build a portfolio of Urban photography that my teacher Alison Belcher said reminded her of Lewis Baltz.

Lewis Baltz? I thought.

After taking a look into the type of photography he did, I admired her comment and thought about honing my skills even more.

I have still yet to find all of my photos. I think I have an Instagram gallery around here somewhere of my black and white photos that I started to gather in hopes of pitching to magazines and publications for media coverage. @bw_ph_byrosaaaa

My photos of home and Costa Rica are a momento to how I see street-- or urban photography through my lens. I really also enjoy nature photography and blur the lines into maybe landscape as well. I don't really know how to label it. I'm just going based off of what my teacher described my work as.

And then, I swtiched over to an MA in mass communication because taking photos, editing, and preparing all the of pictures for assignments was daunting. So, I got into digital art and started sharing my pictures online as well. I didn't get very far until I realized I needed to finish my book and start focusing on that while I look for freelance work as another income stream.

Now, I'm hoping to grow my newsletter once again and hopefully find publications who might take guest posts as another freelance income stream to share my experiences with my audience. <3

I didn't include this part; moreover, I made a portfolio of graphic design pieces I made for any jobs I might be interested in applying to. If, God willing, I may have favor with some employer and they see how amazing my ideas are they would hire me on the spot and give me a job! :D

I include business cards, flyers, social media banners, YouTube thumbnails and more.

You can see that, here.
